To celebrate this year’s Record Store Day, we’ve teamed up with two female-owned record stores in Germany and America to bring two exclusive mixes to the airwaves. Let us introduce you to the women making their mark in the record industry.
Our first show that aired on Saturday the 23rd (April) at 3 PM was with White Rabbit Record Store based in Lemgo, Germany. One of the three owners, thirty-three-year-old Diana, joined us with a mix “supposed to reflect the mood you get into when the first signs of spring arrive”. With a set purely mixed on vinyl, Diana is setting the bar high for Record Store Day 2022.
Next up was a show with Brittany “Red-I” Benton (5 PM), owner of Brittany’s Record Shop in Cleveland, Ohio. Her vinyl collection is very diverse, much like the music she plays, ranging from Funk, Jazz, Reggae, Hip Hop and Soul Wax.
