Reform Radio are bringing you a brand new Skills Bootcamp in Video Production. It’s free to access and travel and refreshments are provided. The aim of this programme is to support you into a paid role in the Creative and Cultural Sector.
This programme takes a hands-on approach, responding to real creative briefs and producing a piece of video content from development, through pitching and production, to post production and showcase. You’ll have access to masterclasses from industry experts and be fully supported by our team using the latest video and audio equipment.

On this programme you will work in a small group to create:
A 60-90 second shortform video
A 15 second taster video
A 6 second teaser
You will develop skills in:
How to interpret and respond to a creative brief, based on client’s needs
How to develop the idea into a production workflow and organise a shoot
Working with talent and contributors
Training on the latest DSLR cameras and array of lenses
Training on lighting and on shoot troubleshooting
Best practice for backup, storage and management of files
Post production and editing using premiere pro
Working with and responding to feedback from clients
How to split the final product into different lengths and formats for various social platforms

In this exclusive online session, Mike Burgess will be joining us to discuss all things surrounding music rights. For those of you that don’t know Mike, Mike has worked in the music industry for over 15 years. His career has been far-reaching, from him originally being a successful DJ himself, to then managing signed and upcoming artists. He also worked as an assistant producer with 6 Music, and led BIMM Manchester’s BA (Hons) Music Business course. Now, he is an independent music rights advisor.
From copyrighting to royalties, this session is the perfect introduction to understanding how you can protect your music and learn about profit splits. It is for anyone aged 18+ who is ideally already releasing their own music.

This workshop will be taking place on the 13th of February, from 2.30pm til 4pm at Reform Radio.You will be guided through the likes of debt management, savings, budgeting, interest rates and more. This is the perfect way to learn the ropes of finance in a welcoming and accessible space.

Our acclaimed music mentorship programme, Soundcamp, is returning for 2024. Funded by Youth Music and in partnership with Thirty Pound Gentleman, the project invites young people aged 16-25 who are aspiring a career in music to join us at Bootcamp – a series of songwriting and collaborative music workshops. By doing so, they will be in with a chance of getting selected to take part in our 6 month artist development project, offering support with the likes of performance technique, music production, artist branding, and more.
Our Soundcamp 2024 cohort will receive mentorship from a wide array of industry professionals including LayFullstop and Jack Kong (Cooper T).

We are delighted to introduce our new free series of workshops with Drum Happy, funded by The National Lottery and Manchester City Council. Every Friday through November & December, from the 17th of November, you can come along to join us in learning the foundations of drumming and rhythm. All sessions will be held at Powerhouse Library in Moss Side.
Alongside getting to grips with percussion with a focus on music improving your wellbeing, you will also have the opportunity to explore creative writing and content creation. You will also have the opportunity to perform and chat on Reform Radio throughout the process.

To celebrate this year’s World Music Day in true Reform style, we’re holding a day-long free to attend session for music-lovers to come together, meet like minded creatives, and get a taste of different musical activities.
Featuring live performances from the female-identifying/non-binary HERchester collective and our Soundcamp alumni, alongside an industry discussion with Rhythm Lab Records. There will also be a wider range of taster workshops in the likes of DJing, audio recording, editing and mixing.
Our Music Industry Day, funded by Youth Music & Arts Council England, is set to take place on the 21st of June, 11-4pm. It is open to anyone aged 16+, with an interest in music.
